Seriously, get over it everyone.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003EHugely anticipated films being a bit crap.\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/b\u003EI’m looking at you, Ridley Scott and Peter Jackson.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003EMoustaches.\u003C\/b\u003E There are only a few men who look good with a moustache and that’s Tom Selleck, Burt Reynolds, Sam Elliott and Ron Burgundy. And don’t get me started on people who wear them ‘‘ironically’’.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003EDrinks in jars. \u003C\/b\u003EA crime against beverages often committed by the ironic moustache brigade. I don’t want to drink an $18 cocktail out of your nanna’s old Fowler's Vacola, I want a proper glass, thank you.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003ERestaurants that serve ‘‘small plates’’.\u003C\/b\u003E Would I like to pay double to eat my meal separated into 16 tiny portions across an entire dinner service? No, I would not.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003EReposting hoaxes on Facebook because you’re gullible and can’t be bothered checking if they’re legitimate.\u003C\/b\u003E No, Morgan Freeman did not speak out about the Newtown shooting just hours after it happened. No, Facebook will not give $1 to cancer research for every ‘‘like’’ that photo receives. And yes, you need to stop falling for this crap or I’m defriending you.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003EFood trucks charging restaurant prices.\u003C\/b\u003E The food truck revolution is great – it lets entrepreneurial chefs get into the game and often showcases new and different cuisines. But $15 for a hamburger and chips served from a van window? A fiver for a single taco?\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003EBickering in Parliament.\u003C\/b\u003E From the definition of words to the relative offensiveness of shelled mussels, there was far too much petty arguing among our politicians last year. It’s so boring.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nWhich brings me to the main trend I want to leave behind in 2012: \u003Cb\u003EBeing offended.\u003C\/b\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nFrom \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/www.couriermail.com.au\/news\/national\/jones-says-gillards-dad-died-of-shame\/story-fncyva0b-1226484669276\" target=\"_blank\"\u003EAlan Jones’ remarks about the PM’s late father\u003C\/a\u003E, to \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/www.news.com.au\/national\/revealed-what-peter-slippers-sexist-text-messages-actually-said\/story-fndo4eg9-1226492172640\" target=\"_blank\"\u003EPeter Slipper’s text messages\u003C\/a\u003E, \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2013\/sep\/30\/julia-gillard-explains-misogyny-speech\" target=\"_blank\"\u003EGillard labelling Tony Abbott a misogynist\u003C\/a\u003E and Twitter trolls – there was an epidemic of people being offended in 2012.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nAs Stephen Fry famously said in a 2005 interview: ‘‘It’s now very common to hear people say, ‘I’m rather\u003Cbr \/\u003E\noffended by that’. As if that gives them certain rights.
